Fifty nine years ago, Seminole County's population was about 30,000. Today we have approximately 425,000 men, women and children living within our boundaries.
Just like the old days, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) patrols the streets and runs the jail. But today, in addition to improving on those vital functions, we do much, much more.
The continuing mission of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office is "To enhance the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit here by reducing crime, and the fear of crime, in Seminole County." We believe that the best way to reduce crime is to prevent it. It is the goal of the SCSO to be proactive in preventing crime to the extent that it is possible. When that effort fails, the focus immediately changes to that of accomplishing the expeditious identification, apprehension, and prosecution of the perpetrator. During this process, the safety of officers and innocent citizens is paramount.
Our dedicated men and women are using state of the art training, technology and techniques to fulfill our mission. Our success has been greatly enhanced by establishing partnerships with neighborhoods, businesses, schools and organizations to increase community safety.
Please take time to visit the official website of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office to see the many facets of law enforcement and community service provided by the SCSO by clicking here www.seminolesheriff.org There you will find helpful links to many organizations, services and resources.
I'll take this opportunity to thank you for the important role you play as an interested, involved, law abiding citizen.
